Third Wave Cafe has the most delicious Juicy Lucy Burger in Melbourne. If you’ve never had one it is an amazing Juicy Lucy patty – 200 gram patty stuffed with full 2 year old Jack cheddar cheese and bacon. Once grilled the cheese melts inside the patty, you experience juicy, cheesy bacony bliss with every bite. This burger is huge! Topped with tomatoes, onion rings, apple bourbon BBQ sauce and horseradish sauce.
What is the history of the Juicy Lucy Burger?
One story says that the Juicy Lucy Burger was actually invented in 1953 in Matt’s Bar and Grill in Minneapolis. It is fabled that a customer had ordered a burger and requested to have cheese on the inside rather than the top. They yelled out the now name,
“WOW, that is one Juicy Lucy.”
In Matt’s Bar, which still exists, it is listed as a Jucy Lucy as it was originally miss-spelled and that maintains their tradition.
The burgers at Third Wave Cafe are lovingly crafted, and as the same with our Juicy Lucy Burger, when there is meat we make sure to fill it with our delicious slow-smoked meats. You can see the full burger range here.
This whole burger can actually stand higher than a can of coca-cola!
Now at the time of writing this, at Third Wave Cafe, we’ve revolutionised our burgers to include delicious premium crisps and to be dribbled with molten cheese. If you think the Juicy Lucy Burger is already a feat for you to conquer, with these burgers are now absolute beasts that finally look as pretty as they taste!
This burger, like our others, is one that we are absolutely proud to serve at Third Wave Cafe. We are proud of our menu items and we look forward to serving you soon! Book your table here.
